TMI Tuesday, 23rd February 2021: Just Wondering.. – Helen Answers

Hello lovelies,

Goodness, what a week it’s been! My poor hands haven’t stopped and my keyboard is probably seconds from bursting into flames! It’s been go, go, go for the past five days, but that’s okay. Somehow, I have confidence in myself to manage it.

Today is my brother’s birthday, so we’re trying to devise a plan to get his gifts to him and see one another, at least on a video call. It’s frustrating now when the next easing of restrictions are only five weeks away which would allow us to all go for a walk together unimpeded, but it is what it is and it’s still far better than the alternative!

From now on, I’ll be including a ‘Puppy Pic Of The Week’ for our beloved TMI Tuesday blogger, H. Hugo, our Jack Russell Terrier, is now five years old and is far from a puppy, but he’s still a puppy to us. Just because he’s all grown up, it also doesn’t mean that we can’t sprinkle in some adorable puppy pics for you guys 😉

Alright, let’s get started!

What Is TMI Tuesday?

TMI Tuesday is a series of questions generated by TMI Tuesday Blog. It is a great way to meet other bloggers and to share some thoughts and experiences. It is important to remember that there are no right or wrong answers to these questions, only the answers of the author –  and that’s part of what makes this tag so awesome!

How To Play TMI Tuesday

Send Us Your Questions!

Do you have something you’ve been itching to ask? Maybe something food-related, something a little bit kinky or something completely random? Have fun with it, then be sure to check back next Tuesday for our answers!

Your questions will be answered by BOTH of us, unless addressed otherwise. You can leave your questions in the comments below or, if you prefer anonymity, you can email us at

1. What food did you eat so much of that now you hate it?

I think for me, the only one that I can really think of is veggie mince. When I was young, my family was very poor and so my Mum used to buy it in bulk instead of minced beef, which we couldn’t afford. I bought some a few days ago (because I’m trying to make more environmentally-conscious decisions!) and I just couldn’t eat it, it made me heave. For me, it doesn’t taste like a greener, cruelty-free, tasty alternative, it just tastes like depression and poverty. I can eat Quorn nuggets, just not veggie mince. I quite like the southern fried Quorn nuggets, actually!

2. What two films would you like to combine into one?

I would love to see a mash-up of Fifty Shades of Grey and Preaching To The Perverted, and I was thinking a lot about my answer to this question last night. In Fifty Shades of Grey, he asks Ana to sign a NDA, or a Non-Disclosure Agreement. In Preaching To The Perverted, Peter Avery (Christian Anholt) is sent to expose Tanya Cheex (Guinevere Turner). I think it would really liven things up a bit to see something more realistic in the Fifty Shades series, like Ana accidentally exposing to Kate about Christian’s preferences for BDSM (which she does in the books) and Kate exposing Christian to the media, which then puts his job and his businesses on the line, which is something that a lot of people in the BDSM community still fear, even to this day. It would just be a little bit more convincing and realistic than stalker exes and psycho bosses!

3. What songs do you feel compelled to sing along with when you hear them, even if you do not know all the words?

I think the one that I used to sing, that I amazed my Mum by singing, is Shakira’s Underneath Your Clothes. I was just keeping it casual and singing because I felt like it, but she actually thought I had the CD on! I just remember her looking at me really shocked and me thinking “I didn’t know I could sing!”, but then my brother went all sonata on everyone and stole the limelight, so I basically stopped trying and found my other things to be good at instead. Do I like singing? I sing because I’m happy, but I’ve never focused on making a go of it now. Other ones include Song Of The Ancestors from Moana, A Tale As Old As Time, obviously from Beauty & The Beast. Also, probably pretty much anything from the Fifty Shades soundracks. Oh, and Enrique Iglesias’ Bailamos or Shaun Mendes & Camila Cabello’s Senorita, they’re just so catchy!

4. What is the weirdest place you have ever slept?

No joke – on the benches that run along the sides of this pier! I am an avid sea angler (there’s a shocker for you, lovelies!) and we used to visit Clevedon pier regularly, even in the winter. My family had oceanic thermo suits, which are the kinds of things you see fishermen on trawler boats wear. Ours were one-piece suits though, so once you zipped up, poppered up and velcroed up, those things were incredibly warm (and nightmarish when you needed to pee!). They have a hood on them, which you can pull down to almost right over your face, and if you pull the collar up, it basically gives you full protection from the elements. Add to that some waterproof boots and you have basically your own sleeping accommodation that you can walk in! So sure, we used to go fishing but some tides were really early, so if my brother or I were hit by a wave of fatigue (or boredom) then we just used to put our hoods up, put our feet up, lean on our rucksack and sleep until the pagoda opened up, when we’d head down there to think of the most random celebrity pairings for countless games of FLAMES. I tell ye, it’s an incredible, deep sleep when you go. The world around you goes on and yet, you just don’t care. We were known as ‘The Red Devils’ by the pier staff too, because our suits were red and we were wind-up merchants!

My other place would have to be the old door frame, which now kind of makes up part of my office/desk space that I have been using in lockdown. I was cold and apparently tired, so I wrapped myself in a fluffy blanket and passed out for two whole hours! It comes with enjoying the rugged outdoors. When you’re outdoorsy, if you’re that tired then you just fall asleep anywhere you can!

5. Who is the weirdest person you have ever slept with, and why do you say this?

Mmm that would be telling, but let’s just say that talking marriage on second date, turning up for a date with pie crumbs all down his front and stalking me for four months after I ended things was probably a good omen. I did try and see past his flaws, but maybe I should have read the signs before the stalking that he really, really wasn’t the one for me!

Bonus: What do you think you do better than 90% of people?

I’m really not sure because I don’t like to brag and I think that everyone has something they do particularly well, or even better than others. I think if push came to shove, listening and relating to others is probably my strength, just because it’s intrinsic in me to do so. How can I help anyone if I haven’t fully understood the problem?

Alright lovelies, I hope you enjoyed this post. Don’t forget to hit that follow button if you want more to be updated each time we bring you more puppy pics 😉

Until next time,

Stay safe & have fun,

Helen xx
