What are you grateful for right now?

Hello Twisties!

Welcome back to another Bloganuary post. The prompt is now available and I am excited to write again for you. If you haven’t read it already, be sure to check back to yesterday’s post for more fun answers, or take a read of all of my Bloganuary posts under the ‘Bloganuary’ category in the right-hand menu.

I’m a bit behind again, so I’ve compiled the last three days into one for you to enjoy!

What Is Bloganuary?

A fun and quirky amalgamation of ‘blog’ and ‘January’ (obviously), Bloganuary is a brand new tag award run by WordPress. Every day, a question or prompt can be sent to you for you to answer on your blog, however you so please. Why wait? Get involved with other bloggers, make new connections, reach new audiences and drive more traffic to your site today!

And now, let’s begin…

Day 8: What do you like most about your writing?

It’s something that I hear often from my readers, but I write honestly and from the heart. I write like I’m talking to a good friend, I share me, my thoughts and my feelings with the world. It doesn’t matter to me whether or not I’m popular, what matters to me is that I’m honest.

Also, I confidently have different ways of writing, and I can be entirely flexible depending on what I’m doing. For example;

I would really like it if you followed my blog.

In all cases they’re honest, fluid and compelling. (PS. You should totally follow my blog now 😉 )

Day 9: What do people incorrectly assume about you?

Oh goodness, some of the more popular ones:

I‘m in my 30s, so I must like clubbing and drinking on the weekend – I have bills to pay and a home to run. Thanks for the invite, but I much prefer to put food on the table and relax with feet up and a glass of Baileys in front of the TV!

I must have smoked tobacco/taken drugs at least once in my lifetime – Nope and nope, although my brother did once give me a taste of a homemade ice cream with CBD oil in it. I wasn’t a fan.

I’m kinky, so I must have had dozens of sexual partners – Just three, actually.

I’m poly, so I must be easy about casual sex – Yeah, no…

I’m a sex blogger, I must love unsolicited dick pics – Nope again!

I must follow the most recent music charts – Not really, but care for some Vivaldi? Marilyn Manson? Depeche Mode?

I’m an assertive woman, I must be a whip-wielding Dominatrix! – Yeah… I thought that too, but hey, it turns out that I’m not!

I have OCD, my home must be super clean and organized – Haha, good joke…

And a last one guaranteed to make you laugh…

Having a chronic pain condition is the same as having a bad leg that gets better in a few weeks – Just stop…

Day 10: What are 5 things you're grateful for today?

First of all, my husband, who has been so supportive over the past few days and given me anything that I’ve wanted, when I’ve wanted it. Hot tea? Done. Snuggles? Onto it. Time to listen to music and cry? Got that too.

Second, my dear friend and fellow blogger, Bill. Bill is normally a man of few words, so when he told me that he was proud of me, I really felt that. It kind of reminded me that no matter how crummy I was currently feeling, I was going to be okay.

Third, my little dog, Hugo. Hugo is currently fighting off a bit of a reaction to a flea bite, but he’s still full of love and mischief anyway. Even with his buster collar on, he still looks adorable.

Fourth, my family. Okay, so my Mum’s response to the news was “we’ve been here before though”, which is probably not exactly a very supportive thing to say, but nonetheless I guess the thought was there. Even still, I know they won’t let me sit and mope around for long.

Last but not least, my readers, especially the ones who have reached out to me over the past few days and offered support. It means so much to me that you’re here reading, that you come back to listen to me whittling on, that you put up with my corny jokes and my not very subtle innuendos. So from the bottom of my battered heart, thank you xx

That's it from me for today Twisties! Don't forget to come back tomorrow for my next Bloganuary post!

Until next time.

Stay safe & have fun,

Helen xx
