What Is TMI Tuesday?

TMI Tuesday is a series of questions generated by TMI Tuesday Blog. It is a great way to meet other bloggers and to share some personal thoughts and experiences. It is important to remember that there are no right or wrong answers to these questions, only the answers of the author –  and that’s part of what makes this tag so awesome!

Send Me Your Questions!

Do you have something you’ve been itching to ask? Maybe something food-related, something a little bit kinky or something completely random? Have fun with it, then be sure to check back next Tuesday for my answer!

And now, on with the questions…

1. One of my ideas is to someday create _____ .

Ahh, that would be telling. It’s something to help people with dexterity issues to be able to enjoy their food, and it came to me while struggling with a bottle of ketchup, but that’s all I’m giving away. I know, I know, I’m such a tease.

2. Do you travel lightly?

Actually, as a rule, yes. I used to be a rallier with a caravanning group, sometimes spending up to 10 days (5 days in one place, and then 5 somewhere else) on the road. Our caravan, a little 4 berth Spirite Alpine 1998 model, had only 12ft of living space, so storage was at a premium. I had two small overhead compartments to store my clothes and anything else that I wanted, so that sort of taught me. When we then went on proper vacations to Cornwall and stayed in self-catering accommodation, my brother and I were allowed one holdall (for our clothes), a rucksack (for travel sweets, snacks, drinks etc) and our laptops, if we wanted them – that was it! You learn to pack the essentials or to pack small, and to make use of every nook and cranny. I’m also not a woman who wears a lot of make-up, and taking a dress purely with the intention of going to the bar? No, that’s not me. For your standard family holiday camp entertainment, I’ll wear a dressy-ish t-shirt and a clean pair of jeans instead. A quick sweep of mascara, a swipe of tinted lip balm, a spray of that one perfume that I packed in between my clothes and I’m good to go!

3. How would you create the best dressed baked potato?

I’m thinking I’d make a Baguette-Me-Not, but swap the baguette for a baked potato and ruffle it with some homemade garlic and herb butter before adding the filling, just to make sure there’s no bland spud in there. What is a Baguette-Me-Not, I hear you ask? Ladies, gentlemen and everyone else, allow me to introduce my invention: I had some green pesto (homemade again!) left over and I really didn’t want to throw it away, but I also had to make sandwiches for the next day, so I thought I’d do something with it. I cooked some more chicken it with the pesto and a generous amount of mayonnaise in a bowl, and hoped. The result was good, but it could be better, so I finely diced some unsmoked back bacon, fried it off and added it too – that was the winning combo! I was packing the baguettes when it occurred to me to give it a name inspired by one of my husband’s favourite programmes, Bob’s Burgers. Behold! The Baguette-Me-Not was born. Trust me, he’s never forgotten them either…

4. The best thing you tasted over the weekend was _____ .

Either some perfectly served (very slightly melted), really creamy salted caramel ice cream, or a dark chocolate Baileys Moment, I’m undecided!

5. What do you wish you had payed attention to?

I think in all cases, time, and loss. Actually, it occurred to me this week that Hugo is seven this year, it feels like only yesterday that he was a puppy. As daft as it sounds, I don’t know yet that I’ve recovered from losing my last dog yet to be anywhere near ready to cope with the thoughts and fears of him getting old.

That’s it from me for this TMI Tuesday! Join me next week for the next round! Do you have any questions for me for next week? Don’t forget to leave them in the comments below!

Until next time,

Stay safe & have fun,

Helen xx
