tmi tuesday hope fear

It’s been a week, but now it’s Tuesday. It’s TMI Tuesday.

What Is TMI Tuesday?

TMI Tuesday is a series of questions generated by TMI Tuesday Blog. It is a great way to meet other bloggers and to share some personal thoughts and experiences. It is important to remember that there are no right or wrong answers to these questions, only the answers of the author –  and that’s part of what makes this tag so awesome!

How To Play TMI Tuesday

Copy the below TMI Tuesday questions to your webspace (i.e., a blog). Answer the questions there, then leave a comment below, on this blog post, so we’ll all know where to read your responses. Please don’t forget to link to tmituesdayblog from your website!

Send Me Your Questions!

Do you have something you’ve been itching to ask? Maybe something food-related, something a little bit kinky or something completely random? Have fun with it, then be sure to check back next Tuesday for my answer!

And now, on with the questions…

1. Covid dating behavior:

– Are you choosier?

– Are you less choosey?

– Are you more frank and up front about what you want?

In a way this doesn’t apply because I’m married, however, I’m also in an open marriage. In that regard then, I’m a demisexual, so I won’t meet anyone unless I think we’ll get along, and I suppose that includes views on basic hygiene. Not just Covid-19, because I definitely know that there are people out there now who are walking around vaccinated but no longer wash their hands. It’s not just Covid-19 out there to get you, folks!

2. What is stable in your life? Answer Yes or No as in “yes, this is stable” or “no this is not stable”. Elaborate if you wish.

– Job – I’ve been blogging for four consistent years, so yes.

– Finances – I have roughly £700 consistently in savings, so yes.

– Romantic relationship – Hmm, yep, I’d say so.

– Economy of your country – Not right now…

– Mental health – Hmm, nope…

– Physical health – You know, I once read that physical health is a journey, not a destination. I’d like to think that that has some bearing, so no.

3. Have you lived in a different country than the one you were born? Did you have to learn the language?

Nope. I did very nearly move to Portsmouth in my childhood though, and Camborne, Cornwall as an adult. Actually, I mentioned this question to Matt earlier, and I explained that although I’ve never had to learn another language per se, the Bristolian dialect might confuse people in other parts of the UK. For example, in Bristol (and I definitely do this!) we would say “wherz ee too?”, it means “where is he?”, “where is that man, bus, taxi etc. There is also “wherzitoo?”, Bristolian for “where is it to?”, “where is it?”. If you say “wherzitoo?” to a Bristolian, they’ll understand you. if you say it in another part of the country, it’ll probably cause some confusion!

Oh, and around here, nobody is “guv” or “guv’nor”. In Bristol, ladies are “love” and men are usually “mate” or “bud” – we’re a relaxed bunch!

4. Can you speak any other languages?

Oui, je parle en peu francais et io parlo un po d’italiano 😉

I also know a very small amount of Japanese and Spanish. On top of that, I know a little BSL and the ASL alphabet, which my brother and I sometimes use to communicate in noisy situations because of my low-tone hearing loss – or just because we don’t want my mother to know!

5. How do you manage your fears?

It depends. Right now, they’re definitely managing me! Okay, but seriously, right now I’m trying to manage my catastrophic thinking through rational logic and past experiences. I think, right now, a lot of people have the same fears that the conflict in Ukraine could become a global nuclear war. If you’re like me, I’ve made it so that you can download my spreadsheet below of all of the other times I’ve fear impending doom, and what really happened. Of course times are scary, but not as scary as they are for the people of Ukraine.

Bonus: What would you pick to add to your coffee, Baileys, Amaretto, or Whisky/Whiskey?

Baileys Affogato – One scoop good quality vanilla ice cream (preferably vanilla gelato) in a glass or mug, a strong espresso poured over the top and a double shot of Baileys to follow. Serve immediately, thank me after 😉

That’s it from me for this TMI Tuesday! Join me next week for the next round! Do you have any questions for me for next week? Don’t forget to leave them in the comments below!

Until next time,

Stay safe & have fun,

Helen xx
