My best writing secrets, revealed for TMI Tuesday.
It’s that time of the week again Twisties, who’s back for another round of TMI Tuesday?
What Is TMI Tuesday?
TMI Tuesday is a series of questions generated by TMI Tuesday Blog. It is a great way to meet other bloggers and to share some personal thoughts and experiences. It is important to remember that there are no right or wrong answers to these questions, only the answers of the author – and that’s part of what makes this tag so awesome!
How To Play TMI Tuesday
Copy the below TMI Tuesday questions to your webspace (i.e., a blog). Answer the questions there, then leave a comment below, on this blog post, so we’ll all know where to read your responses. Please don’t forget to link to tmituesdayblog from your website!
Send Me Your Questions!
Do you have something you’ve been itching to ask? Maybe something food-related, something a little bit kinky or something completely random? Have fun with it, then be sure to check back next Tuesday for my answer!
And now, onto the questions…
1. When you need to get serious, good writing done where do you go?
I go to the ‘Naughty Corner’, my Naughty Corner, but really, there’s nothing even remotely naughty about it at all. It’s where I blog from, and since I write about BDSM and BDSM is kinda naughty, and my desk is in the corner of the room, I call it the Naughty Corner. That’s it! Nothing more than that, really.
2. Where do you look for inspiration to write?
As a rule, I look to life, to ideas that come to me while I’m out and about and to things that I think would make an interesting post at some point in the future. Aside that, maybe it’s something that I’ve watched or read, I’ll write about that. Last but certainly not least, I’m very blessed to have some wonderful people in my life who keep giving me ideas. I’ll be sharing something completely quirky (but very satisfying!) with you on Friday thanks to Bill, so be sure to come back for more then.
3. If you could add anything to your office what would it be?
Space! My living room is 3.5 x 3.5 metres and it’s just too small to be too many things all at once. I used to have a huge black desk with three drawers and shelves in the bedroom, which I gave up to my husband at the start of lockdown. No kidding, I used to say that thing belonged in the Oval Office – it is huge!
4. Are you an app calendar/planner (ie., g-cal, outlook) kind of person or do you still prefer a physical planner?
Ah, I’m both. I use the OurFlat app to organise my life and to get all of my to-do’s done, because I wouldn’t get half of it done if I didn’t. However, for my blog I have a physical planner. Saw it, had to have it!
5. When you jot down notes do you use pen and paper or put it into an electronic device (tablet, smart phone, etc)
Again, both. I have a honeycomb notice board next to my desk, with adorable little bee map pins thanks to Matt, which I use generally for keeping notes of stuff for my blog. For ideas on the go though, I use my smartphone. My Samsung Notes is full of useless junk that was beneficial to me eight months ago!
I also use lists religiously. I have a magnet on my refrigerator that reads ‘people who want to appear smart rely on memory. People who want to get things done make lists’. That probably tells you a lot about me – Type A, go-getter to the core!
Bonus: March 15 is National Shoe World day. a holiday that illuminates the need for quality footwear for millions of people around the world who go without. What quality pair of shoes would you pick to gift to someone? Post a link or pic.
A pair of these, that I shamelessly wear pretty much everywhere – visiting family, walking the dog, doing my shopping, to the pub, you name it. I have other shoes too, but I only really break out the black leather ankle boots for funerals and meetings, the walking boots for serious walks and the black sandals for dressier occasions. These trainers aren’t only suitable for an array of occasions but they’re also super supportive and comfortable, which makes them ideal for walking longer distances if needs be, because inequality sadly doesn’t just stop at shoes but includes critical infrastructure in some many cities and countries, too.
That’s it from me for this TMI Tuesday! Join me next week for the next round! Do you have any questions for me for next week? Don’t forget to leave them in the comments below!
Until next time!
Stay safe & have fun,
