TMI Tuesday, 22nd March 2022

A hot dog sausage in a seeded hot dog bun. There are French Fries in the back ground.

No cheating here, come play TMI Tuesday with me.

It’s that time of the week again Twisties, who’s back for another round of TMI Tuesday?

What Is TMI Tuesday?

TMI Tuesday is a series of questions generated by TMI Tuesday Blog. It is a great way to meet other bloggers and to share some personal thoughts and experiences. It is important to remember that there are no right or wrong answers to these questions, only the answers of the author –  and that’s part of what makes this tag so awesome!

How To Play TMI Tuesday

Send Me Your Questions!

Do you have something you’ve been itching to ask? Maybe something food-related, something a little bit kinky or something completely random? Have fun with it, then be sure to check back next Tuesday for my answer!

And now, onto the questions…

1. Have you ever cheated at a board game? Why?

Yes, when I was younger. My brother was (is) a bad winner, so I used to cheat to rob him of the win because if he didn’t win then he couldn’t rub it in my face. These days I just cast pity on him, but also refuse to play the games that I know he’s overwhelmingly good at and suggest some different games that I know we can all play equally well. For example, my brother loves poker, and he’s even won a bit of money on poker. I tried it once and got absolutely annihilated by him, which of course he was quite smug about. I’m too honest for poker, so to save myself from feeling hurt and him from gloating each time he wins, I just suggest we play something like Newmarket instead. It’s still a card game, but everyone fares much better.

2. Which board game are you unbeatable?

Possibly chess, but then I’ve no doubt in my mind that a seasoned chess player could probably beat me easily. I’ve been playing on and off since 2002, but I’m not a die-hard chess fan, I do have a life outside of the game. Chess is sexy, it’s a real game of strategy and skill,.

3. Which mythological creature would be your worst roommate?

Now, personally I’m not really into fantasy and so it’s kind of hard for me to answer this question, but I’m thinking maybe a troll. Trolls are generally messy, lazy, aggressive and kind of simple-minded, and I’m quite a fan, it would surely seem, of peace and organised chaos. I can live with mess, as long as it’s kind of… organised mess, and everybody is contributing something. I think messy, lazy and angry would really bother me though, so we’ll go with a troll.

4. Give us a three song playlist. You can link to the songs if you wish.

Okay, so I am going for the three that really stand out for me right now:

1. Depeche Mode – In Chains

I’ve been singing this the past day or two.. It’s classically 80’s electro rock and classically Depeche Mode, but it’s also kind of ‘from the heart’ submission. My personal, Depeche Mode, subspace song? A cheeky little extra, just for you.

2. Marilyn Manson – Personal Jesus

Look, it’s sort of Depeche Mode again, it’s just that the Marilyn Manson cover is so, so good! Hands up, I’ll admit, I would play/fuck to this song… but I’ve also wondered how it could work for a tango or paso doble!

3. Ed Sheeran – Shape Of You (BKAYE Remix)

I’m all about this right now. It’s Ed Sheeran’s classic, but it’s got some more pizzazz to it than usual. It’s kind of sexier, I feel? Give it a go and see what you think.

5. What famous person have you met or been within a few feet of (music concerts and book signings do not count).

That would be Princess Royal Anne. I was an equestrian for nine years and she visited our stable. I didn’t personally meet her, but I at least I saw a flurry of people and I spent some time trying to work out who the important person was, and why. She wasn’t the Queen, and I was too young really to realise that there were other Royal family members besides the Queen and Princess Diana. Once I did find out about her, I thought she was pretty awesome for her involvement with horses, right up until I learned that she also approved of the consumption of retired riding horses as meat – I wasn’t so keen on her after that!

Fun fact: If I have a length of string in my hands, there is a good chance that I will subconsciously hold it like a pair of reins at some point – an equestrian never forgets!

Bonus: Is a hot dog a sandwich?

Umm, no. No is the short answer, but if you want the longer, logical answer, here goes:

First things first, technically, a hot dog is just the sausage in the middle – no bread, onions, mustard, ketchup; none of that, just the sausage (I am not mature enough to be writing about ‘just the sausage’ without smirking!).

If we’re going to include the roll, onions, pickles, mustard etc, then still no on two accounts. First of all, a sandwich is made with two slices of bread, whereas a hot dog roll is still one piece, split halfway open (my mind feels like a scene from Sausage Party at this point). The split is also vertical instead of horizonal, as it typically is whenever we talk about a sandwich (think sandwich biscuits or sponge sandwich cakes), and therefore it does not meet my most basic, clean, logical definition of a sandwich.

So no, for the sakes of reclaiming my mind from all of its unwanted and unwarranted hot dog smut, a hot dog is not a sandwich, m’kay? Let’s just leave that there now…

That’s it from me for this TMI Tuesday! Join me next week for the next round! Do you have any questions for me for next week? Don’t forget to leave them in the comments below!

Until next time!

Stay safe & have fun,

Helen xx

    1. I’ve changed since then anyway. I’m no longer a wispy blonde haired, blue eyed angel, oh no I most certainly am not.
