What Is TMI Tuesday?

TMI Tuesday is a series of questions generated by TMI Tuesday Blog. It is a great way to meet other bloggers and to share some personal thoughts and experiences. It is important to remember that there are no right or wrong answers to these questions, only the answers of the author –  and that’s part of what makes this tag so awesome!

How To Play TMI Tuesday

Send Me Your Questions!

Do you have something you’ve been itching to ask? Maybe something food-related, something a little bit kinky or something completely random? Have fun with it, then be sure to check back next Tuesday for my answer!

And now, onto the questions…

1. What is something minor or seemingly insignificant in your life that actually contributes greatly to your happiness?

Probably the LED strip lights that I ran all the way around the picture rail in my lounge, or the LEDS in general. We have a routine that turns the main living room light off at 9PM and turns the lamps and LEDS on, it’s just my own little slice of heaven. Especially when the lounge is tidy, it’s such a great way to relax and unwind. Interior design is something that I get trusted with generally, though I can proudly say that it’s not hard to see why. The LED flower arrangements were also made by my capable hands and because floristry is also a thing that I occasionally dabble in, though only with fake flowers and such. I’d probably faint if I had to handle the real deal.

Also, that single drawer unit by the TV? Really an upcycled 3-drawer bedside unit, I just took two drawers and the bottom plinth out, reinforced the whole thing and covered the screw holes, then used the newly created nook to store a small ottoman. The drawer is my sewing drawer and there is a tray next to the ottoman so it can be either a footstool, a spare seat or an occasional table for teas and coffees, depending on our needs, it can also be stored out of the way when not in use. Oh heck I’m crafty, but there’s no denying that I’m pretty innovative too.

The best bit is I can hook the LEDs up to the Google Hub for a party too. Relaxing lounge or 90’s disco? It’s all in a voice command. And yes, we even have a bar…

A picture of my lounge. There are warm white LEDs on the picture rail around the room, a grey sofa with a deer cushion. In the background there is an elextric fireplace with borwn tealight holders, a frame and LED arrangements.
Welcome to Thee Snug

2. Describe your life in 5 words.

Fun, productive, happy, ambitious, challenging.

3. Have you ever been screwed over? What happened and how did you respond?

Aye aye, yes, but you know, I try not to get into bitching about stuff anymore.  I’ve come to realise lately that “victim” is a choice mindset and it’s not a good place, in fact it’s even quite toxic, for both myself and others. Shit happens, people screw you over sometimes, sometimes they mean to and other times they don’t. Realise it’s usually about them, not you. Focus on being you and doing what makes you happy, don’t let the buggers grind you down.

4. What did you think was cool when you were young but is not cool now?

Crimping my hair. For the end result, I could have stuck my finger directly into the electrical socket and saved myself oh so much time.

5. Would you rather stay in or go out on a Friday night?

I’ll admit, your girl is a total homebody. I think as I’ve aged and I’ve had more responsibilities, I’m totally cool with home comforts over the bright lights and loud music of town. Home means yoga pants, hoodie, messy hair and slippers and no soul can judge me. Going out means effort and why do that when I can get pasta, pizza or curry and dessert to my door? I do love a good Netflix and chill, and you can read that however you will. I’m not depressed, I’m just conservative with my energy.

Bonus: Which word would you use if you could only use one for the rest of your life?

Fuck. One word, a thousand ways to say it 😉

That’s it from me for this TMI Tuesday! Join me next week for the next round. Do you have any questions for me for next week? Don’t forget to leave them in the comments below!

  1. 1. I watch a lot of British-based TV. I always like the idea of a snug. They are cozier than American family rooms.

    4. bwahahahaha!

    5. “I’m not depressed, I’m just conservative with my energy” 😀 I love that

    Bonus: fuckyeah

    1. 1. Absolutely. My lounge measures 3.5 x 3.5m and it’s just everything this time of year. Where I lived pre-2016 we had a huge lounge/dining area that measured 8 x 5m with French doors and we were buying furniture just to fill it. Here it has more character and we have to think tactically and creatively to avoid overcrowding it. We have baskets on the walls and all sorts, not just for decorative reasons but for practical, we-need-more storage reasons too.

      2. I’m glad my sufferance amuses you 😛

      5. It has some backing. Look up the Spoon Theory, it explains it perfectly. Usually, by the time I’ve blogged and run errands, I have no spoons left for town 🙂

      Bonus: Fuckyeah indeed 😀
